With street and domestic violence on the increase - knowing how to defend yourself is more important than ever. An unexpected attack could happen anytime - walking to your car, lying on the beach, walking the dog or unfortunately for some - in your own home.

Self Defence is with you wherever you go, in fact everyone should know the basics - just like knowing how to swim - it’s an invaluable skill, that can be practised and perfected throughout your lifetime. And it’s never too late to learn.

For less than the cost of a night out (where again you need to know how to defend yourself) you will learn skills that could save your life.

Perth Self Defence Course is based on principles of science of human anatomy, physics, geometry and common sense. You will learn to move according to these principles without having to be super muscular or built.

 

This short course will show you:

  • How to use your arms as a shield in front of your body. You'll learn why using the right angles of your movements is the perfect defensive shield. So that when you're attacked you will use this between you and your opponent...
  • How to move fluently. You'll learn to attack and defend simultaneously reducing your reaction time and making it difficult for your attacker to respond...
  • The best defensive positions. Even if you're not physically strong you'll learn how to take advantage of the straight forward direct response...
  • What to do first if you get attacked and show you how to make it your natural reaction...
  • How to control your fear and the so called "freezing moment"
  • How to practically use the attacker’s force
    against them...
  • How to effectively protect yourself if you’re on the ground...
  • How to use your legs to carry out effective kicks...
  • How to use your arms and legs to strike and when to use them to attack your opponent...
  • How to get out of a lock, arm bar or headlock and how to avoid getting into a lock in the first place…

The self defence courses are held on Sundays once a month from 9am to 12 noon. We keep the classes small to ensure we can demonstrate a wide range of movements and scenarios, allowing time for you to practice and ask questions throughout.

In order to have more realistic experience at the course, we are offering you to bring a male partner along with you FREE of charge.

Past experience shows us that participants get more into it if they practise the drills on their male partners and therefore benefit the most from the course rather than practising with a stranger. This is mainly due to the trust and relationship with your partner, or friend.
You will be more comfortable touching hands with someone you trust and be able to exercise a more realistic skill.
It is especially true for the ladies.
